USING THE FILES
The workbook uses mass and distinguishes stock as weighed from neat aromatic contribution. Example values are illustrative. CSV files are portable records; they do not include the workbook’s formulas.
Keep a blank master. Save a separate copy for each trial or batch, with the exact supplier materials and strengths you use.

Choose a format for the job
Choose the Excel workbook when you want calculations alongside your records. Its six sheets cover the starting instructions, formula, batch plan, costing, batch log, and blotter log. Open it in spreadsheet software that recalculates formulas, read the Start here sheet, and preserve the calculated cells while replacing the example inputs. The sample materials demonstrate arithmetic; they are not a tested perfume recipe.
Choose the PDF when you want to write measurements and observations by hand. It contains three A4 sheets: a formula record, a batch and costing sheet, and a five-round blotter study. Print at actual size. The HTML version lets you inspect the sheets before printing. Use the CSV files for a simple table that opens in most spreadsheet applications; they contain headings and blank records, without the workbook’s automatic calculations.
Keep a separate copy for each revision
Save a blank master and make a new working copy for every formula revision or batch. Include a date and version in the filename, then record the exact materials, stock strengths, and units inside the file. Distinguish planned weights from actual weights so the record describes what happened at the bench. A later scent observation should refer to the same formula version and evaluation dilution.
All template masses are in grams and stock strengths are mass percentages. Use one currency consistently for costs, and do not substitute a bottle’s nominal millilitres for its fill mass. You may use and adapt the blank templates for personal or commercial projects. Keep your own backups: downloaded worksheets and browser exports are separate files, and edits to one do not automatically update the other.
