Batch size & bottle fill

Usable mass after the transfer loss below.
As-weighed concentrate, including carriers in your stocks.
Assumes a uniform blend is lost during handling.
Weigh a test fill. Bottle volume in mL is not its fill mass.

Worked example

A 100 g finished blend at 20% concentrate needs 20 g concentrate and 80 g carrier before any allowance for process loss. Bottle fill is entered by mass, not nominal bottle volume.

Common questions

Is concentrate percentage the same as aromatic material percentage?

Not always. A concentrate can contain prediluted ingredients and solvents. This tool calculates the proportion of the concentrate as supplied in the finished blend.

How do I account for process loss?

Enter an estimated loss percentage. The tool increases the starting batch so the remaining mass after that assumed proportional loss meets your target. Real losses vary by process.

Can I calculate 50 mL bottle yield?

First determine the actual fill mass for your formulation. A 50 mL bottle does not necessarily hold 50 g of perfume, because density varies.
