Worked example
An ingredient at 5% of a concentrate used at 20% in a finished product contributes 1% to that product if the ingredient stock is neat. A 10% stock would contribute 0.1%.

Can I rely on the number as a safety assessment?
No. Correct arithmetic is only one part of assessing a product. Material identity, constituent contributions, product use, and current requirements also matter.
