A formula builder, a dilution calculation, a costing worksheet, a place to capture an observation. These everyday tools help you spend more time understanding your materials. We make them freely available, without an account or a subscription.

Perfume Bench is built around a simple sequence: learn a little, try something small, write it down, and return with a more interesting question. You own the formulas and observations you create here.

Sources & limitations

The material library draws on linked supplier descriptions and primary references. Learning guides cite their sources. Pairings and note roles are editorial study prompts, rather than fixed rules about how a material will behave.

The four starter accords are original educational sketches. They have not been bench tested or assessed as finished products. We do not describe them as tested, skin safe, compliant, or ready to sell. A working calculation is not a product assessment.

Our arithmetic is explicit about units and assumptions. The tools use mass for reproducibility, distinguish a prediluted stock from its neat material contribution, and keep gross margin separate from markup. The ingredient-limit tool calculates from limits you provide; it does not maintain a regulatory database or issue certificates.

Local storage & portable records

Formulas and journal studies are saved in your browser. No account is created and your entries are not uploaded by the tools. Export a copy when you want a backup or need to move between devices.

Where to start

You can work through the beginner course, meet a few materials, or open a blank formula and explore. There is no single right way to begin paying attention.
